I'm currently reading some Naruto Forums and I happened to notice this one post. It ranted about how Sasuke doesn't deserve all that symphathy from his fans because he is just a "jack ass". Compare him to Naruto and Gaara who didn't feel loved at all.
I don't think that that's completely true. I think that losing something is ways harder than not having something. I think its because when you already have something you know what it feels like to be complete. Like its already a part of you. With it you already feel happiness. So imagine having that important thing taken from you. Knowing what happiness it gave at the same time knowing that you won't be able to feel it again. That's just too painful. Like having something you want right in front of you but you just couldn't reach it. And you know that you can never reach it.
Just like Sasuke, Naruto too wants a family to love and accept him. It's just that with Naruto its different. He doesn't know what it feels like. He only knows that if he has it he can be happy just like everyone else. Sasuke's is different. He already had it and he knows what it feels like. So now that Itachi has taken it away it's only natural that Sasuke would want it back. The problem here is that he knows that he can never have it back. You can't bring the dead. This gives Sasuke a reason to be bitter.
It's only human to want to be happy its just that sometimes one's happiness is at the cost of another. Poor Sasuke
